With a steadfast commitment to driving positive change in the mining industry, the company offers exciting graduate opportunities. Applications are now open for five different graduate programs at their Johannesburg, South Africa location. With an intense focus on sustainable mining, these graduate programs offer a hands-on learning experience in various fields including Metallurgical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geomatics (Mine Survey), Electrical Engineering, and Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineering.
Anglo American Graduate Internship Benefits
Being a part of the Anglo American graduate programme, candidates will be exposed to an exceptional working environment. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference in mining projects and experience structured learning development. Graduates will work closely with industry leaders, while also being a part of a vibrant and supportive graduate community. Each graduate will be offered a three-year programme with the Southern Africa Business Units, including rotations to different Platinum sites where possible. The programme comprises three twelve-month placements, offering a comprehensive overview of the mining industry.
Anglo American Graduate Internship Eligibility
To be eligible for these graduate programmes, candidates must:
- Possess a postgraduate degree, BEng, BSc, BTech or a National Diploma in the respective field of application
- Have completed or due to complete their degree or honours by December 2023
- Have no more than two years of relevant work experience
- Be team-oriented with potential leadership qualities
- Demonstrate drive, ambition, and a passion for challenging work in mining operations
- Be willing to work in remote areas of South Africa as part of the Graduate Programme (such as North-West (Rustenburg) and Limpopo (Burgersfort, Steelpoort, Mokopane, Polokwane, Thabazimbi, and Northam)
- Be prepared to obtain a driver’s license, as these roles require high mobility
Application Procedure

- If you pass the initial CV review stage, you will be invited to complete an on-demand video interview and a game-based psychometric test.
- Following a successful interview, candidates will be invited to the assessment center along with other potential candidates.
- Candidates will also be expected to undergo a Medical Fitness Test and Assessments.
