DFFE Internship Programme 2024 – 2026

The DFFE Internship Programme for the years 2024-2026 is a 24-month initiative that invites unemployed graduates to apply. This opportunity aims to provide work experience to enhance the employability of graduates who have completed their studies.

Graduate Internship

The internship positions offer a stipend of R7142.00 per month and cover a wide range of qualifications and fields of study. Candidates are encouraged to apply on time and ensure their applications are complete and accurate.

DFFE Internship Eligibility:

  • Candidates must have completed at least a three-year formal qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • The program is inclusive and encourages persons living with disabilities to apply.

Positions and Requirements:

  1. Biodiversity and Conservation
    • National Diploma/BTech/BSc Degree in Nature Conservation: For involvement in biodiversity conservation projects.
    • National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Environmental Management/Science: Focused on environmental policy, planning, and protection.

2. Climate Change and Air Quality

  • National Diploma/BTech/BSc/Honours in Environmental Science/Management: Specializing in climate change, air quality management, and environmental health.

3. Chemicals and Waste Management

  • National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Environmental Science/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering: Targeted at managing chemical substances and waste management practices.

4. Environmental Programmes

  • National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Environmental Sciences/Management, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences: For projects on land rehabilitation, greening, and sustainable development.

5. Financial Management Services

  • National Diploma/BTech/BCom in Financial Management/Accounting: Aimed at managing the financial aspects of environmental projects and programs.

6. Forestry Operations Management

  • National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Forestry: Concentrating on the sustainable management and conservation of forest resources.

7. Regulatory Compliance and Sector Monitoring

  • National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Environmental Management/Science or Law: For roles in compliance monitoring and enforcement of environmental regulations.

8. Oceans and Coasts

  • National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Marine Science, Oceanography, Environmental Science/Management: Focused on the conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal resources.

9. Corporate Affairs

  • National Diploma/BTech/BCom/BSc in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management: For support roles in communications, HR, IT, and supply chain within the environmental sector.

Locations:

The available internship positions are mainly based in Gauteng (Pretoria), with some opportunities in the Eastern Cape (Buffalo City Metro, Nelson Mandela Bay), Free State (Mangaung Metro Municipality), and Kwa-Zulu Natal (Tubatuba Municipality, uMgeni Municipality, uMsunduzi Municipality, eThekiwini Municipality).
