DID Land & Facilities Maintenance Programme 2024
“Join the Vacant Land & Facilities Maintenance Programme – An Initiative by the Department of Infrastructure Development. Apply Now!”

The Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) announces an exciting opportunity for the youth and adults who are unemployed, through the Vacant Land & Facilities Maintenance Programme under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

In an effort to curb unemployment and offer hands-on experience in land and facilities maintenance, the DID is recruiting 1000 individuals aged between 18 and 55 years. This initiative aims to engage participants for a period of 12 months and offers an opportunity for growth and learning in a diverse and dynamic environment.

Benefits of Joining the Programme

Participants will have the opportunity to acquire new skills while contributing to the maintenance and improvement of public lands and facilities. This includes gaining knowledge of the legislative framework regulating the waste and environmental sector, understanding safety procedures for working on vacant land, and embodying the Batho Pele principles which value consultation, service standards, access, courtesy, information, openness and transparency, redress, and value for money.
