Note: If you are unable to collect the money yourself, you can appoint a procurator at the SASSA office, or give someone power of attorney to collect the grant on your behalf.

Beneficiaries have been encouraged to always be honest and update SASSA if their financial circumstances change. Nonetheless, SASSA promised to be doing checks to ensure that the financial information provided by beneficiaries is complete and accurate so that the grants are provided to those who qualify for them.

Beneficiaries have also been admonished that there is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day of payment. This is because once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.
