“Unlock Your Creative Potential: UJ Arts & Culture Internship Program 2023-2024”

UJ Arts & Culture, a significant division of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture (FADA) at the University of Johannesburg, is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for a range of internship positions for the period 2023-2024. These opportunities are generously funded by Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA).

In a bid to nurture emerging talents in the art and culture sector, UJ are set to host fourteen (14) interns who will be guided by industry veterans, participate in specialized development programs, and gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields. The domains open for application include copywriting, multimedia, sales/marketing, hospitality, art gallery administration, performing arts administration, and sound technology.

Eligibility

  • We invite applications from South African citizens who are passionate about arts and culture and hold the highest qualifications relevant to the aforementioned fields.
  • Kindly note that candidates who have participated in a South African Government programme in the past year should provide the title of the programme.

Interested candidates are invited to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the application form.
  2. Provide your full name, email address, and phone number.
  3. State your residential address, specifying where you will reside during the internship program.
  4. Confirm your South African citizenship.
  5. Specify your highest qualification and title.
  6. If you have participated in a South African Government programme in the past year, provide the program title.
  7. Select the type of internship you wish to apply for.
  8. Upload a cover letter outlining your suitability for this internship.
  9. Upload your CV and qualification documents.

Dates for Application

The internship program will commence from the 1st of November 2023 and will run for 12 months. The selected interns will be based at the UJ Arts Centre on the University’s Kingsway Campus in Auckland Park. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
