The bursary programme provides financial support to eligible students, covering tuition fees, textbook costs, and, where applicable, residence costs. This initiative is designed to reduce the financial burden on students, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who wish to be considered for the bursary program must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • They must be accepted, registered, and studying towards a National Diploma or undergraduate degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Natural Sciences, Management Sciences, Finance, or Operations/Production.
  • The applicant must have achieved an average of 65% and above in the year of study preceding their application.
  • The combined household income of the applicant may not exceed R450,000 per annum before statutory deductions.

Application Procedure

To be considered for a bursary, applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. A brief letter of motivation.
  2. A certified copy of your Grade 12 certificate or the most recent academic transcripts.
  3. An affidavit confirming that your combined household income does not exceed the specified threshold.
  4. A certified copy of your ID.
  5. Proof of registration with the university.
  6. Statement or Bill of Costs for tuition from the university.
  7. Proof of costs for textbooks.
  8. Proof of costs for residence, if applicable.
