Department of Defence Internships Eligibility

General Criteria:

• Open to candidates holding diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and honours degrees.
• Stipends vary based on qualifications:
  • Diploma/Advanced Certificate: R5000 per Month
  • Bachelor’s Degree: R5 500 per Month
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Honours Degree: R6 500 per Month

Department of Defence Internships Application Procedure

1. Form: Applications should be submitted on the prescribed Form Z83.
2. Location: Depending on the specific division, applications are to be forwarded to the respective headquarters. For example, for the South African Army division, applications are to be sent to SA Army Headquarters in Pretoria.
3. Shortlisting: Only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted for further proceedings.
4. Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on probation for a duration of 12 months after the selection procedure. They will also undergo various checks as part of the process.
