Land Bank Insurance Actuarial Learnership Eligibility

Who Should Apply?

  • Young graduates (ages 18-35) who hold a qualification in the actuarial field.
  • Those who possess a minimum of a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Candidates should express a keen interest in furthering their qualifications to become an actuary with the Actuarial Society of South Africa (“ASSA”) or an equivalent professional actuarial body.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of two actuarial exam exemptions.
  • Preference is given to those who are student members of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and intend to participate in actuarial exams during the learnership.
  • South African citizens who have no prior work experience after completing their studies.

  • Purpose of the Programme: This is a 24-month initiative designed to provide fresh graduates with real-world exposure in their specialized area of study. Beyond work exposure, graduates will have training opportunities and mentorship to help them develop skills, gain knowledge, and gain vital work experience.
  • Responsibilities: Successful applicants will be entrusted with the following tasks:
    • Professionally completing all duties assigned by their mentors.
    • Focusing on personal skills development in their specialty area.
    • Undertaking any administrative duties allocated.
    • Joining the Actuarial Society of South Africa and engaging in their Work-Based Learning Skills programme.
    • Writing actuarial exams and taking part in the company’s actuarial study assistance policy.
    • Handling tasks like report writing, research, memo drafting, and creating presentations.
  • Further Requirements:
    • Candidates may be required to work extended hours.
