We are pleased to announce that the 2023 application for the Mamelodi Sundowns Live Limitless Internship Programme is now open.
Mamelodi Sundowns, in its sustained commitment to nurturing the youth, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Live Limitless Internship Programme for the 2023 intake. We are offering seven (7) internship positions to young and vibrant individuals between the ages of 18 and 34. This opportunity allows candidates to apply starting from the 7th of June, and the internship is projected to run for an entire season, from August 2023 through June 2024.
The Value of Investing in Youth
At Mamelodi Sundowns, we firmly believe in empowering young minds and tackling their challenges all year round, not just during Youth Month. Our commitment to this ideal fuels our decision to establish internships as a tool to counter youth unemployment, one of the most pressing issues our society faces today.
More Opportunities, Diverse Roles
To extend this golden opportunity to a larger number of young people, Sundowns has increased its intake by adding two more positions and introducing new departmental roles. Tlhopie Motsepe, the Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, shared insights about the program, stating, “This year we have increased the internship positions from 5 to 7, allowing more youngsters to gain invaluable experience working at our club. We’re broadening our scope to include various departments such as production, graphic design, data analysis, and supporter mobilisation.”
Reflecting on the Success of Past Internships
Looking back on the previous year’s internship programme, Motsepe said, “Our internship program has been instrumental in equipping young people with valuable work experience, essential soft skills, a stipend, and a substantial case for future employment. The transformative journey of our five interns has been inspiring, not only for them but also for everyone at the club. Their presence has allowed our staff to evolve as mentors and leaders, and taught us to prioritize youth in our actions.”
Intern Success Stories
Two outstanding interns from the previous year, Pogiso Mosothoane (Photographer) and Thoriso Madisha (TikTok Content Creator), will continue with us. Pogiso, having travelled to Morocco with the Sundowns Ladies Team for the CAF Women’s African Champions League in 2022, shared his extraordinary experience, “I am grateful to Mamelodi Sundowns for providing me this life-changing opportunity. I have met remarkable people and travelled to places I could only dream of. This internship has truly transformed my life.”
