Nexio, stationed in Bellville, Western Cape, is on the hunt for diligent, dynamic individuals with a passion for Linux system administration. This internship is designed to give hands-on experience to budding professionals in the IT domain.
Nexio Linux Internship Eligibility
Educational and Professional Background:
- Grade 12 with Maths & Science is preferred.
- Candidates are recommended to have tertiary education in the ICT domain.
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
- RHCSA or an equivalent qualification in a Unix/Linux environment is beneficial.
- Exposure to AWS Cloud will be advantageous.
- At least 1 year of experience in ICT is a prerequisite, with a minimum of 1 year specifically in System administration.
- Familiarity in administering enterprise-level systems.
- Some experience with hardware, system software, storage, and networking.
- Having basic shell scripting experience will be seen as an added advantage.
- Backup and recovery exposure is critical.
- A sound grasp of Security & Compliance is essential.
Technical Competencies:
- Data entry and data processing expertise.
- An aptitude for critical thinking.
- Proficient problem-solving capabilities.
General Competencies:
- A foundational understanding of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A demonstrated history of system administration support.
- Adaptability to dynamic work environments.
- Mastery of basic telephone etiquette.
- Skills in problem solving, analytical thinking, and interpersonal communication.
