The management of the Nelson Mandela University, NMU has opened the admissions portal for aspirants that are interested in running a program at the institution both at the diploma, undergraduate and the postgraduate level. Specific NMU application closing dates and deadlines have been set for admission registration as well as the closure of the admissions portal. It is advisable to apply early because of the limited admission slots available at NMU as late entry would not be permitted.
The NMU application deadline or closing date is always an application submission timeline that is set by the institution for admission into any course of interest. South African schools (universities and colleges) usually have their submission deadlines within August and October every year.
Therefore, it is expected for the applicants to meet the University’s minimum admission requirements and admission point score before proceeding with the application.
NELSON MANDELA UNIVERSITY APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applicants are required to take note of the NMU application deadline below:
- NMU Medical School Application deadline: 30 June 2025 for MBChB applicants (with NBT results to be submitted by no later than 31 July 2025)
- 5 August 2025 for early applications (excluding MBChB)
- 30 October 2025 for late applications (excluding MBChB)
- 30 October 2025 for international student applications (excluding MBChB)
- 30 October 2025 for student housing applications
Prospective students who wish to join Nelson Mandela University in 2026 are invited to apply online as from April 2025. In order to ensure adequate time for application, processing and planning by the university and yourself, online applications for admission in 2024 should be submitted by:
- 30 June 2025 for MBChB applications with the NBT to be written by no later than 31 JULY 2025. The NBT must be written by ALL school leavers, or those enrolled in their first year of study at an institution of higher learning.
- The Nelson Mandela University Application Portal is expected to shut down on the same date at 11:59 PM.
