Jumbo Clothing Co. is offering an exciting opportunity for FET/TVET graduates [1] who have completed their N6 Certificate in Business Management. This 18-month Workplace Experience Programme is designed to provide in-depth, practical, on-the-job training in a clothing retail store environment. The program aims to help students obtain their diplomas while gaining valuable experience in various roles and positions related to the functioning of a clothing retail store.

JUMBO CLOTHING’S WORKPLACE GRADUATE PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for Jumbo Clothing’s Workplace Experience Programme 2023, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have completed a N6 Certificate in Business Management.
  2. Should be interested in gaining practical experience in a clothing retail store environment.

JUMBO CLOTHING’S WORKPLACE GRADUATE PROGRAMME APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The 18-month programme will expose interns to various roles and positions in a clothing retail store, including:

  1. Shop Assistant (4 months)
  2. Cashier (4 months)
  3. Admin Clerk (4 months)
  4. Assistant Store Manager (4 months)
  5. Store Manager (2 months)

Throughout the programme, interns will be trained in the following aspects relevant to a clothing retail business:

  1. Visual Merchandising: Assisting with merchandising in all departments while maintaining a high level of housekeeping.
  2. Sales: Implementing marketing promotions to maximize sales opportunities and providing efficient and effective customer service.
  3. Customer Service: Promoting an environment conducive to a pleasant shopping experience.
  4. Point of Sale Procedures: Training in point of sale processing tasks and activities, including in-house systems and software (Dolfin Live & WPRO).
  5. Administration: Performing general administration, filing, and cash handling activities.
  6. Finance: Managing cash, including petty cash, sales purchases, internal control systems, and fixed assets.
  7. Staff Management: Assigning employees to specific duties, managing performance, and developing staff.
  8. Performance Evaluation: Store managers will submit a summary report after each quarter, detailing the graduate’s performance and abilities.
