The National Treasury is currently seeking applications for the role of Asset Verification Clerk (Ref No: S073 / 2023), a fixed-term contract position for six months under the Corporate Services Division. Eligibility

Applicants for the Asset Verification Clerk position must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum Grade 12 qualification.
  • At least 0 to 12 months’ work experience in physical asset verification.
  • Knowledge of the asset verification and disposal process, and administrative support.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Asset Register: Assist with the necessary supporting documentation and affix all assets with an identification tag. Provide general office and administrative support pertaining to Asset Management activities.
  • Dispose Redundant/Obsolete Assets: Assist with the identification of redundant or obsolete assets for disposal thereof. Help verify disposal in line with relevant regulations and departmental prescripts. Assist to remove redundant assets to a demarcated area for safekeeping and ultimate disposal.
  • Verify Departmental Assets: Verify all departmental assets and report discrepancies and findings for investigation. Assist with the alignment of the Asset Register pertaining to the verification outcomes and clean-up redundancies. Issue asset inventory forms for users to acknowledge the asset verified at their area of responsibility.

  4. Upload the necessary documentation, including copies of all qualifications, National Senior Certificate/Matric certificate, ID, etc. These documents need not be certified at the point of application but will be required before attending the interview.

All qualifications, criminal and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on shortlisted candidates. Foreign qualifications, including O and A level certificates, must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
