This article contains information on Stellenbosch University, the SU registration process, and guidelines for new and continuing students, thereby preparing them for the 2025 academic year.
The registration is done via the ITS iEnabler, which is a self-help/online system. The system is accessible off-campus for convenience. You don’t have to stand in long lines and don’t have to come to campus. This guide will enable you to process your online registration successfully.
Follow the steps that are provided to make this process an easy an d exciting one.
STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION GUIDELINES AND PORTAL
Visit www.sso-prod.sun.ac.za/cas/login to start your registration
- Step 1: Select student
- Enter your student Number and password
- Log on
- Step 2: Select Academic Registration drop-down menu on the left as indicated
- Step 3: Note that you must have an admitted admission status for the qualification you are registering for.
- Step 4: Check that you do not have registration restrictions, such as Finance, NSFAS, international, etc. If you do have restrictions, your registration will not go through. You will need to contact the respective department so that they can remove the hold before you can proceed.
- Step 5: View and access the rules and regulations. You will not be allowed to proceed unless these are accepted. Once you have accepted the Rules and Regulations agreement,.
- Step 6: • Select Add Subjects to a registration
- The details of your qualification will be displayed.
- Select qualification code, highlighted in blue
- Verification Process: You can verify your selection; if satisfied, click continue. The registration cost will be displayed.
- Final step:
- Congratulations! You are officially registered.
- View, print or save your proof of registration.
Please note that registration for 2024 will be opened after admissions have been completed.
Online registration for second semester modules is open. Please note that the 2024 second semester registration is only for returning students, i.e. those who have modules to complete. There is no second-semester intake for new students.
The registration can also be assisted by Stellenbosch staffs on campus. The dates for registration is scheduled; kindly check out the registration dates for your faculty.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION
New Students
Copies of certificates, even if they are certified as true copies of the originals, will not be accepted if the original documents are not shown.
National Senior Certificate or IEB examinations
If you wrote the final school examination at the end of 2024, you must provide:
- the original Advice on Results of the NSC or IEB examinations that was received from the relevant education authority and a photocopy thereof.
If you wrote the final school examinations prior to the end of 2023, you must provide:
- the original Advice on Results of the NSC or IEB examinations that was received from the relevant education authority and a photocopy thereof; and
- your original NSC and a photocopy thereof.
Other school systems
If you studied in a different school system than the South African NSC or IEB systems, you must provide at registration:
- the original school-leaving certificate of the school system concerned and a photocopy thereof; and
- the original certificate of university exemption, issued by the South African Matriculation Board, and a photocopy thereof.
If you are still waiting for a result, an arrangement for conditional registration will be made.
Other Universities
If you are a first-year new student who studied at other universities, you must provide:
- the abovementioned certificates; and
- your original academic record and certificate of good conduct and photocopies thereof.
If you are a postgraduate new student who studied at other universities, you must provide:
- your original academic record and degree certificate and photocopies thereof.
Returning Students
Outstanding documents
Returning students who have not yet presented their proof of admission documents (original NSC and/or certificates of other education authorities) will only be allowed to register if they submit their original outstanding proof of admission documents prior to or at registration.
