We are pleased to announce that the application for the 2024 W&RSETA Entrepreneurship Development Programme is now open.
The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority, commonly referred to as W&RSETA, plays a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship in the North West Province. They’ve launched the Entrepreneurship Development Programme aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to thrive in the wholesale and retail sector. If you’re an accredited training provider or have an extension of scope in this sector, this could be an excellent opportunity for you to be part of this transformative initiative.
W&RSETA ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for this programme, training providers must adhere to the following criteria:
- Must be W&RSETA accredited or have an extension of scope.
- Recruitment of entrepreneurs should focus on South African citizens aged between 18 and 35 years.
- The ability to provide a signed Learner Agreement for each participating individual.
- Submission of a certified ID copy for each learner which should not be older than 6 months.
- Furnish the CIPC registration documents of all participating learners.
- Adequately complete the Benefit Template that lists the details of every learner.
- Ensure that every learner is registered on the W&RSETA Learner Management System.
Furthermore, there’s an emphasis on training providers to:
- Train participants on the W&RSETA-registered skills programme, specifically focusing on the NC: Informal Small Business Practice qualification.
- Complete all training endeavours by March 31, 2024.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
To ensure a seamless application process, training providers should:
- Acquire the Application Form: The Non-Pivotal Application Form is crucial for your application. This can be easily obtained from the W&RSETA official website.
- Complete the Form: Ensure all sections of the form are meticulously filled out, providing accurate and verifiable information.
- Submission: Once completed, forward your application form via email to smalaku@wrseta.org.za.

APPLICATION DATES
- Final Date for Learner Registration: All learners should be registered on the W&RSETA Learner Management System by December 15, 2023.
- Deadline for Application Submission: Training providers are urged to submit their applications by no later than October 31, 2023.
Note: Preference in the selection process will be given to emerging or historically disadvantaged providers. It’s also essential to understand that W&RSETA reserves the right to make or not make any appointments.
