The application for the Old Mutual Accounting Bursary for the academic year 2022/2023 is now open by Old Mutual for all South Africans in South Africa.
The Old Mutual hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the Old Mutual Accounting Bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards degree and diploma programmes that are aligned to the following listed below:

OLD MUTUAL ACCOUNTING BURSARY APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
That’s why we offer bursaries to the best young financial minds, to people who are passionate about pursuing a career in Chartered Accounting and making a real difference!
Must have applied at either:
- University of Cape Town,
- University of Stellenbosch,
- University of the Witwatersrand,
- North West University
- Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University,
- Rhodes University,
- University of Fort Hare,
- University of Free State,
- University of Johannesburg,
- University of Kwa-Zulu Natal,
- University of South Africa,
- University of the Western Cape or
- University of Pretoria.
A chartered accountant’s specific job may include:
- Preparing financial reports and documents
- Maintaining records of investments
- Reviewing potential financial risk
- Providing professional opinions in regards to the fiscal decisions of the organization.
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
- High School (Grade 11) (Required)
- You need a matric certificate with at least 70% or Level 6 for all subjects including Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and English.
How to qualify
- You need a matric certificate with at least 70% or
- You need to commit to our CA Training Programme, after which you will work for Old Mutual for a specified period.
The bursary covers
- Full tuition costs at the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch, the University of the Witwatersrand or the University of Pretoria
- Residence fees and one annual return flight home for students who are not studying in their hometown
- Vacation work
- The higher the quality of your degree, the more incentives will be offered to you
- Book allowance
