ERWAT is offering an Internship opportunity to unemployed and prospective graduates to apply in the fields that are in line with the Corporation’s core business. The Corporation is therefore inviting applications for the ERWAT Internship Programme that runs for a maximum period of 12 months in the following disciplines/fields of study.

The ERWAT Internship Programme uses a fully integrated approach that combines theory with practical training and leads to a recognized qualification/certification. ERWAT provides an internship opportunity in the following areas listed below.

This internship opportunity is situated at the following locations in South Africa:

  • Johannesburg

ERWAT INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY

The applicant must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Must have completed all theoretical modules required for a National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences/Environmental Management/Biological Sciences.
  • Have not taken part in a formal Internship/Experiential learning programme.
  • South African Citizen
  • Positive attitude for learning
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Be physically fit
  • Be able to pay attention to detail.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

The incumbents will be trained to assist with the environmental responsibilities within the company, including environmental impact assessments for projects, environmental auditing for both projects and water care works, fulfilling Green Drop and Wastewater Risk Abatement Plan (W2RAP) requirements, and environmental education, awareness and research.

The appointment of candidates is at the sole discretion of ERWAT, taking into account factors considered relevant, including but not limited to the companies Employment Equity Policy and Strategy.

Preference will be given to applicants residing within Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
