Application for the WBPL Graduate Internship Programme – 2022/2023 Entry is now open for interested applicants by the Western Cape Government in South Africa.

The Western Cape Government offer an Internship opportunity to unemployed graduates to apply in the fields that are in line with the Corporation’s core business. The Corporation is therefore inviting applications for the WPBL Graduate Internship Programme that runs for a maximum period of 3-24 months in the following disciplines/fields of study.

The WPBL Graduate Internship Programme uses a fully integrated approach that combines theory with practical training and leads to a recognized qualification/certification. Western Cape Government provides an internship opportunity in the following areas listed below: 

  • Agriculture
  • Community Safety
  • Cultural Affairs and Sport
  • Department of the Premier Economic Development and Tourism
  • Environmental Affairs & Development Planning
  • Human Settlements
  • Local Government
  • Provincial Treasury
  • Social Development
  • Transport and Public Works.

This internship opportunity is situated at the following locations in South Africa:

WBPL GRADUATE INTERNSHIP ROLE, APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENT

Minimum Requirements:

  • You are in possession of a completed Certificate (NQF 5), Diploma (NQF 6), Degree (NQF 7) or Post Graduate Qualification (NQF 8 and higher)
  • You are a South African citizen and reside in the Western Cape
  • You are between the ages of 20 and 35
  • You desire an opportunity to gain practical work experience.

Recommendation:

  • You have no network or support to help you make career choices
  • You are financially constrained.

Key Performance Areas:

  • On-the-job training will be provided in one of the following departments: Agriculture; Community Safety; Cultural Affairs and Sport; Department of the Premier Economic Development and Tourism; Environmental Affairs & Development Planning; Human Settlements; Local Government; Provincial Treasury; Social Development; Transport and Public Works.

Competencies:

  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape
  • Proven computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Planning and organising skills.

Remuneration:

  • A stipend will be paid as determined by the Department.

WBPL GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Applicants who do not have access to computers are encouraged to make use of the following internet facilities to complete the online application: Your local library; Your local Thusong Service Centre; E-Community Forums and e-Centres in rural towns; The Western Cape Government Walk-in Contact Centre; An internet café.

  • Applicants who passed the final examinations will be considered. The final results will be verified. Also, other personal information and documentation will be verified in terms of legislation.

  • Find the Internship and click “APPLY” on the actual advertisement
  • Complete the application questions and click “submit”
  • You will receive an email confirming that your application has been received
