Application for the Overberg District Municipality (ODM) Learnership – 2021 Entry is now open for interested applicants by Overberg District Municipality (ODM) in South Africa.

Overberg District Municipality (ODM)  invites all interested applicants to apply for the Learnership Programme 2021 in the following disciplines:

  • Firefighter

The 12 month programme will offer a theoretical element aligned to a Learnership programme and practical on-site work experience to improve the skills and workplace performance of entry-level learners. It provides foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, computer and basic business principles. 

The Overberg District Municipality (ODM) firefighter learnership uses a fully integrated approach that combines theory with practical training and leads to a recognized qualification/certification.

ODM FIREFIGHTER LEARNERSHIP ROLES, APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or IFSAC Accredited NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter I Certificate (NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter1 Qualification will receive preference)
  • Must comply with medical fitness and physical fitness
  • Applicants must be literate in at least two of the three Official Languages of the Western Cape

Duties:

  • The incumbent is responsible for the operational functions with regard to firefighting and rescue.
    • Daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment and vehicles.

Remuneration:

  • (T6 = R137 244 – R178 176 per annum) plus the normal fringe benefits of a Local Authority.

ODM FIREFIGHTER LEARNERSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Application forms available at all ODM offices and on the website (www.odm.org.za).
  • Completed application forms and/or CV are to be returned to the Department: Human Resources, Private Bag X22, Bredasdorp 7280.
  • Certified copies of qualifications must be attached to applications. Incomplete and late applications and applications with no proof of requirements will not be processed.
